The top New Years Resolution has always been to loose weight. Personally, I find this resolution unrealistic and a total waist of time.
You’d be far better off working on your mindset. Here are a few ideas to create a better you, on the inside. These traits, if practiced daily, will help you see yourself in a new, better way.
Be kind to yourself, and others
You are your own critic, but you can also be your own champion. The words you speak or think, even to yourself, should be positive and caring.
When something doesn’t go to plan, give yourself some slack
We learn best from our mistakes. Take time to reflect what went wrong; next time will be different.
Live life to its fullest every day
Take time for yourself and enjoy life. Be present, engage in new activities, and be thankful for what you have.
Give at least one compliment each day
Spread some happiness to others; notice what surrounds you and be appreciative
Random Acts of Kindness
It only takes a moment to hold a door for someone, offer to help someone that needs assistance, smile and say thank you. In time, this will become a habit; and it will bring you joy.
Declutter your life
Get rid of anything that you aren’t using. My mother once told me “when you buy something, get rid of something”. If you don’t really need it or it is’t serving you, considering donating it. If you need some assistance, consider The Tidiness Project; she is amazing! https://thetidinessproject.com
Write down three things you are grateful for every day.
This will be your daily reminder to focus on the positive things in your life. If you journey, these would make a great entry.
Choose to LIVE
We all spend way too much time online. From scrolling Tic Tock, Instagram, and playing video games, our lives are spent on a screen instead of what is real and in front of you. Schedule time to read a book, take a walk , or spend time with a loved one.
Choose to be in the moment
Turn your phone on airplane mode for 30 minutes a day and enjoy what or who is in your life.
Call instead of texting
Talking with friends & family can lift your spirit and helps you stay connected.
Talk less, listen more
Does anyone really need to know your opinion?
Manifest your dreams
Get out of your own way! Write down your dreams and imagine living it. Use it as your daily reminder of what you are striving for.
Try something new
It could be as easy as trying a new food, getting new haircut, or guided meditation. Maybe it’s a Reflections Boudoir session aimed at improving your confidence and self-worth.
Change will not come if you wait for someone or some other time. Now is the time to start the journey of self-love. You are the one you’ve been waiting for and only you are the change you seek.
Beginning a new year offers us hope for a brighter, better, future. It all starts with YOU and your mindset. Are you ready for change?
